Today we’ve got some news for you about the Crime Fiction Lover team. Firstly, we’re welcoming a new book reviewer to the crew. David Prestidge is a keen reader of crime fiction and a skilled reviewer. You might also detect a touch of wry humour in his writing, which you can familiarise yourself with by reading his first review here.

David is from Wisbech in Cambridgeshire, and he documents life there – covering the community, its pubs, local history and famous Wisbech-ian – on his blog. His passion for crime fiction takes in an array of authors including Walter Mosley, Phil Rickman, MJ Trow, Robert B Parker, Stuart Macbride, Ed McBain, George Pellecanos and many more. He believes the greatest London writer was Robin Cook – who worked under the pen name Derek Raymond. “I think I Was Dora Suarez is the scariest crime book I ever read,” he says.

As we welcome David to our team we also bid farewell to two of our stalwarts. Both HoCam and RThomasBrown have stepped back from their Crime Fiction Lover duties due to work and writing pressures. I’d like to thank Jacques Filippi (HoCam) and R Thomas Brown for their dedication to the site, their great support and advice, and of course their skilful book reviewing. They’ll both be missed.

This means we have a couple of vacancies on the team. We’re interested in finding one or two new book reviewers based in the US or Canada. If you know anyone good who loves crime fiction please tell them to contact us via the Contact form on our site.
